Every aspect of the Porter brand has a unique synergy to it. From the heritage of the name to the identity of the founders. Here is a bit about both if you are unfamiliar with the name:  Porter was founded by Kichizo Yoshida in 1918 in Tokyo on the belief that the “heart and soul goes into every stitch – We believe Japanese craftsmen’s skills are No. 1 in the world.” I brought the Porter line to roztayger because it is effortlessly sleek, unisex and the products are built like tanks – all this while never looking heavy or cumbersome. Porter presents the perfect solution for the man or woman on-the-go who is particular about design. Not surprisingly, clients for these bags tend to be in creative industries – architects, design directors, photographers, artists, professors, etc. Porter devotees come from around the world and know the name is synonymous with cool, edgy design mixed with incredible quality and attention to detail.  You pay a bit more but the the reward is a bag you have in your closet for many years that never looks dated.

Porter’s stainproof waxed cotton shoulder tote is a sporty-chic container for daily necessities. Its made from bridle leather and waxed Egyptian cotton. This wax cotton used is incredibly dense, strong and restorable. If it gets dirty, dry it first and brush off later to remove the dirt. Wipe it off with a wet sponge if necessary. By reapplying the attached wax, (a container comes with every bag) water repellency is sustained for longer use. The top of the bag snaps closed for security

smoky shoulder bag:

The Porter Shoulder bag in the Smoky collection is made in black cordura duck material – something akin to a fine denim – more refined but still casual. This piece works well as a travel or daily bag. The outside of the bag has a large zip pocket facing your body as you wear it while the other side has the same large zip pocket plus two snap front pockets under the main flap. Inside the bag are two addition large velcro pockets. Made in Japan.
